Borox Qualitative Filter Paper Grade 1
F11001
These cellulose filters are used in qualitative analytical techniques to identify and detect substances.
GRADE 1
Particle retention: 11 µm
This is the most widely used filter paper with moderate retention and flow rate for routine applications. This grade covers a wide range of laboratory applications and is frequently used to clarify liquids. Traditionally, this grade has been used in qualitative analytical separations for precipitates such as lead sulfate, calcium oxalate (hot), and calcium carbonate. In agriculture, it is used in soil analysis and seed testing procedures. In the food industry, it is used in numerous routine techniques to separate solid food substances from related liquids or extraction liquors and is widely used in education to teach simple qualitative analytical separations. For air pollution monitoring, atmospheric dust is collected from the airflow using plates or rolls, and the spot density is measured photometrically. For gas detection, the paper is impregnated with a chromogenic reagent, and color development is measured by optical reflectance.
