Ashless filter papers have medium speed and retention capacity. Quantitative filter papers have high wet strength and chemical resistance. They are acid-hardened, reducing ash to an extremely low level. Their hard surface makes them suitable for a wide variety of critical analytical filtration processes.
They are between Grades 40 and 41 in retention, being twice as fast as Grade 40. Typical applications include food analysis and soil analysis; particle collection during air pollution monitoring for subsequent analysis with XRF techniques; and inorganic analysis in the construction, mining, and steel industries.
